Jim is a Master Elite of Shop Management and has been recognized as the only shop in Iowa to receive the BBB Integrity Award.

Larry Monroe

Bob Spitz

Bob Spitz began his career as an apprentice technician in a 4-bay import repair shop in Long Island, New York. After completing vocational school, he continued his education in business management and was naturally drawn to roles in sales, marketing and public relations. Before joining Management Success in 1994, Bob worked for several dealerships, Repco Replacement Parts, and at one point he operated a shop of his own. Bob currently holds the position of Senior Vice President of Curriculum where he embodies his knowledge and passion for the industry through the creation of content and curriculum. With nearly half of his career devoted to consulting independent repair shop owners, Bob has been instrumental in helping the company become the premier management training group throughout the United States and Canada.

Bill Wrubel

Vice President of Business Development,

Bill is a sales and customer service executive with more than thirty years’ experience in sales, customer service and business management. His experience includes a technical automotive background, numerous sales and customer care positions. An honors graduate from Northwood University, General Motor University and Dale Carnegie. Bill is happily married for forty-two years with two children and four grandchildren. He enjoys golf, fishing and travel in his spare time.

Jeff Peevy

President, Automotive Management Institute (AMi)

Jeff is a 36-year industry veteran and president of the Automotive Management Institute (AMi).    He has spent the last 20 years advancing learning in the industry while studying and globally advocating the concept of learning as a sustainable competitive advantage. Jeff is currently leading the AMi “next generation” project, collaborating with hundreds of industry training providers to increase the acceptance of professional, verifiable credentials.

As a long-time industry educator, Jeff serves as co-chair of the Collision Industry Conference (CIC) Education and Training Committee.  He is a former board member of the NABC and CIF and current board member of the American Liver Foundation.

Tobi Edmonds

Tobi has been involved in the automotive industry since 1999, specializing in parts and service for dealerships. She opened her first shop, Edmonds Import Auto in 2008, which specializes in European import vehicle repair. In 2014, the year she first joined Management Success, she added a domestic division. Tobi and her husband, Kevin, live in Palmer, Alaska and run the shop together as owners. Edmonds Import Auto is the first female-owned shop to achieve Management Success’ prestigious award of Master Elite.

Steve Ek

Owner, Ek Automotive

Born and raised on the northwest side of Chicago, Steve felt it was important to open up his shop there. From day one, giving back to the community was just as important to him as servicing and repairing cars. Over the years, Steve has been able to blend his passion as an artist and musician into his auto repair shop and it’s become a hybrid of all the aforementioned. Today, you can hear Steve constantly ask the rhetorical questions: “Why can’t my shop be anything I want it to be? Why does it have to be just an automotive repair shop? Why does there have to be a limit?” Steve laughs, “Stand back. I don’t know how big this thing is going to get!” Ek Automotive has been in business since 1991 and has achieved Master Elite status with Management Success.

Keith Going

Principal, Business Development Southwest Region for I-CAR

As Principal, Business Development Southwest Region, Keith is responsible for managing business development initiatives and coordinating the efforts of committee volunteers and I-CAR instructors in a multi-state area. In his role, he also promotes I-CAR training and services within the Southwest Region, focusing on scheduling I-CAR training classes, growing student enrollment at career and technical schools, and garnering industry support.

Keith’s career spans more than 25 years in various leadership positions in the collision repair industry.

Jim Merle

Jim Merle has been with Babcox Media since 1993 and currently serves as group publisher of Brake & Front End, ImportCar, Underhood Service, Shop Owner, Servicio Automotriz and Tomorrow’s Tech. Jim currently serves on the Auto Care Association’s Marketing Committee and is a board member of the Automotive Communications Council.

Jim is dedicated to the continued education of repair shop owners, technicians and service managers across the independent repair shop marketplace.
